“Let the words of I-n-I mouth and the meditation of I-n-I heart be acceptable in thy sight Oh Jah Rastafari”

These are often the utterances of Ras-Binghi-I at the beginning of his shows.

Ras-Binghi-I is a father, brother, leader and musician extraordinaire. His brand of Reggae music is grounded in traditional Jamaican heavy drums and bass but diversified with a very upbeat tempo that keeps people singing and dancing through the night.

Clarendon in Jamaica, Ras-Binghi-I went to Canada and became one of the principal players in helping establish Reggae music in Toronto.

After leaving Canada, Ras-Binghi-I moved to the Bay area in Northern California and played with a band called The Roots of Creation. He also toured with and opened for such Reggae giants like Peter Tosh, his back up band Word Sound and Power, Toots and The Maytals.

Ras-Binghi moved to Santa Cruz, California and formed one of the most successful reggae bands to come out of the United States of America. The Rastafarians have gained international Acclaim with their album Orthodox .

Ras-binghi-I is credited for his input in the movie House Party 2 and numerous music videos including Al Green's “Leave Your Guns At Home”.

After moving to Hawaii, Ras-binghi-I wrote and performed the song titled “The Same Old Song” on Butch Helemano's album “Stylee”.

Ras-Binghi-I release a CD with his son Ambassa who is a gifted young drummer. Together they break all musical barriers with a wide variety of original jamming and upbeat rhythms drawing from Reggae, Hip Hop, Rock and Roll, Jazz, Funk and Blues.

The array and flavor of different tracks are truly new and refreshing. Most significant is the fact that the lyrics are filled with messages of peace.

Ras-Binghi-I had set up base in Vancouver, Canada and since then has performed in places such as Whistler, The Islands, Up and down the Coast of California, Seattle, San Jose, Costa Rica, Brazil and Panama.
